I haven’t posted in a very long time but this is an event worth posting about. This will probably be first and last surprised wedding I will ever photograph. Yes I said surprised. A week before June 3rd I received a phone call from Chandler saying this surprised engagement party is turning into a wedding. I said “does Leigh know about this?” And the answer was “It’s a surprise Kelly”. You are probably thinking that’s crazy and you are right but everyone that knows about Leigh and Chandler knows that they love each other very much. They don’t care about the details they just want to spend the rest of their lives together.
Leigh you were absolutely stunning and Chandler thank you for being the butt end of all my jokes.

Psalm 90:14 surprise us with love at daybreak; then we’ll skip and dance all the day long.

On June 10, 2017 was truly a summer day in Michigan. It was 85 degrees and sunny at Wildwood Family Farms. Brad & Olivia’s beautiful outdoor wedding was full of laugher and love. There was so many opportunities for amazing photos out on the dirt roads and open fields. The newlywed’s easygoing and genuine personality made my job a summer breeze.
Thank you Brad & Olivia for letting me be your photographer. 🙂

On January 14th, I was the photographer of the beautiful Cara & Robert Velazquez’s Wedding. Cara And I went to college together and quickly became friends. we realized we grew up one street away from each other. Cara & Robert decided to have their engagement session by the school house and barn in our neighborhood on Buno road. Brighton has a lot of amazing locations for photos but Cara and I agreed that with or without snow Kensington Park will be perfect for us. We wished for snow but we were blessed with an amazing sunset.

Gentlemen! If you are thinking about proposing to your girlfriend make sure there is a photographer to document the special moment! Billy did a great job at planning the day. Even with a few raindrops it worked out perfect. Congratulations to Billy & Lauren on your engagement. Check out my favorites pictures below and check out more at KeepersByKelly.com
Let it rain! Let it rain! August 12th, 2016 holds the record for the most rain for this summer. But the rain stopped at the right time for Stephanie and Chad’s wedding day and we got all the family and bridal pictures done before it started raining again. Stephanie and Chad didn’t let the rain damper their special day! They embraced the rain and even let me get a few shots in the storm. These shots are my favorites! On August 6th in Zeeland Michigan, two of the most kind hearted people I have ever met got married. The first time I met Liz was in first grade at St.Pat’s. She was caring and sweet all the way back then. For as long as I have been friends with Liz, she has always looked at the positive and always ready to step in to help someone.
Well Aaron isn’t much different then Liz. I was at Basketball camp at Hope college in Holland. A good two hours from home. My car battery light went on when I was driving to camp. Well long story short, Aaron and his friend spent about 2 hours replacing my alternator. As bad as this situation could have been, Aaron put someone else’s needs in front of himself. Just like Liz would have if she knew how to replace an alternator. I know Aaron is going to be amazing husband. They are the perfect team.
With all that being said, Liz and Aaron would do anything for anyone. I’m so happy and excited that they picked me as their wedding photographer. It was a beautiful day on the west coast of Michigan. The whole wedding had Liz’s signature touch from the colorful flowers to all the groomsmen’s socks . She decorated the reception hall like we were in her home. There were pictures of Liz and Aaron everywhere and it was very welcoming.

Mark 12:31 …. ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’….
I always enjoy photographing people I know. My friendship with Emily all started at Concordia University my freshmen year. We had ART101 together and I believe every semester for the next 4 years we had at least one class together. She also helped me through Art History and I will always be thankful for her!
It was a perfect Ann Arbor summer evening for engagement photos. It was so easy to photograph the two and their personality shined through. It was refreshing to catch up and talk about the college days.
